Adjusting the handlebar on your bike

Adjusting the handlebar on your bike

To ensure you sit comfortably on your bike, it’s important for the handlebar to be set correctly. Your riding style and your posture on the bike determine how the handlebar should be set.

If you lean forward while riding, your handlebar should be lower. On the other hand, if you sit more upright, it is more comfortable to have a higher handlebar so that you can keep your back straight.

Adjusting the handlebar is not difficult, all you need is an Allen key to loosen and tighten the screws.

In the video below, we will show you how to do it.

Instructions:

  1. Use an Allen key to loosen the front screw on the stem and angle the handlebar to the desired position. Firmly tighten the screw again.
  2. Use an Allen key to loosen the top screw until the stem can be removed from the frame.
  3. Grease the stem and wipe off any excess.
  4. Refit the stem to the frame and tighten the top screw after setting the desired height.

NOTE! Remember that the stem must be positioned so that the minimum mark on the stem is covered.
