Everything you need for a successful planting
Before you start planting or growing anything, you should have a plan. The first thing you will need when planting flowers is good soil. Flowers, like most other plants, need good soil to grow in. Therefore, fertile flower soil is a prerequisite when you are replanting flowers or for new planting.
The next thing to ask yourself is whether you want to plant your flowers directly in the soil or in pots. The answer to this question depends on the type of flowers you will plant and other conditions. Most pot plants grow best in a slightly larger pot with new and fresh soil.
When planting, you may also need the following tools and items:
- Trowel
- LECA pebbles
- Flower stakes
- Secateurs or scissors.
- Watering can with water.
How to replant flowers
- Remove the potted plant from its pot – be careful at the roots.
- Use a pair of secateurs to cut off any damaged roots and also clear away old soil.
- If the plant has grown, you should use a slightly larger pot – otherwise you just need to replace the soil in the pot. If using a large pot, it can be a good idea to place some LECA pebbles at the bottom.
- Start pouring soil into the bottom of the pot, and then place the root ball in the pot. After that, fill up with soil around the plant.
- Make sure the soil settles by gently tapping the pot.
- Give the plant plenty of water.
